How to become a Foster Carer
The assessment process is thorough and demanding but when you get through this you will be very clear about the full nature of the fostering role and just as importantly, your skills, strengths and areas for development. Prospects Fostering follows the standard Form F process and will have discussed in detail the carers motivation and understanding of fostering through a series of home visits - this in addition to the take up of six references and interviewing face to face of three of these. Training and Development for Foster Carers
Assessment will help identify your skills and training needs and together we will build on that so you are able to confidently care for the young people in your home. Regular supervision, ongoing training - on all aspects of child care and behaviour management skills - and support with understanding the fostering task and support for your own children if required will be provided. Additional help is also available from our own school and specialist disability service. [MORE]
